Instead, I have modified the outcome. Make your macaroons to whichever of the thousand recipes you feel like googling. Instead of piping them into little circles (which spread into each other and cause a mess, if you are like me), spread the entire mixture about 1cm thick across baking trays. Bake for 10-15 mins, and allow to cool. Slice into squares, and sandwich with ganache filling.
