Red Lips

I have had a fascination with red lips ever since I was little. I always thought that I should have lived in the 1900-1950's, as a rich housewife, who gets to wear red lips and heels trotting around the house. Oh, if only I could time travel. I am therefore so pleased that within the last couple of years lipstick has been making a massive comeback. Hurrah! Since then I have been hitting lipstick up like there is no tomorrow, and almost every time that I go out I rock a lipstick/bronzer/mascara/eyeliner combo.

I have two favourite red lipsticks (I will discuss other colours in later posts, right now I am obsessed with red). First and foremost is Maybelline Colour Sensational in Red Revival, which is an amazing, highly pigmented red. It is pretty much the ultimate 1940's sexy screen siren deep red; it is an absolutely beautiful colour. The formulation is so creamy and thick, and very long lasting without being drying. I usually wear this one if I am going out to dinner/drinks and want red lips, mostly because it takes a very long time to eat off!

Poppy King Lipstick Queen in Moment





My second favourite is Poppy King Lipstick Queen in Moment. This formulation is so lovely and creamy, and very very soft and moisturizing on your lips. The packaging is also really adorable, I love flashing this lipstick around because the packaging makes it look so expensive. Plus, it contains blue pigments which help to make your teeth appear whiter. Winner! The only criticism that I have with this one is that it isn't as long lasting, but because it is more of a softer finish lipstick that is to be expected. I wear this one when I want to look gorgeous and flashy and don't have to eat or drink a lot.
